USES
Massage: Apply directly to the area of concern using up to 6 drops in 1 tablespoon of carrier oil. Adults with tougher skin can tolerate undiluted lavender oil but when massaging large areas of the body, it should be diluted by up to 30%. Sensitive skin types should do a test patch first before applying to larger areas.
Infants and children under 2 years should not have undiluted lavender applied to their skin but should have a diluted mix of 1 or 2 drops into 1 tablespoon of carrier oil.
Children over 2 years may tolerate a stronger solution but no more than 3 drops into 1 teaspoon of carrier oil.
After massaging, lay a hot wet towel over the area. Moist heat will force the oil deeper into the tissues of the body.
Bath: Lavender can also be used in a bath in quantities of 3 to 6 drops mixed into your shower gel. Add to the bath while the water is running.
Shower: Add 2 to 3 drops to shower gel and place it on your washcloth to wash your body.
Body spray: Fill a small bottle with boiled and cooled water. Add 10 to 15 drops and shake well. Spray all over after bathing or showering to calm sunburn or rashes and to assist with sleeping.
Cleaning and Disinfecting: Place a few drops of lavender oil on a cloth or into a spray bottle with water to polish and disinfect surfaces. This will have the added benefit of leaving a clean, floral fragrance in the room.
